Sustainable Wantage is a community action group (CAG) run by volunteers who are interested in finding ways to live lifestyles that have a lower impact on the environment and increase our resilience as a community. The issues we face locally and globally can easily seem over-whelming, but by working together our actions can build up to something that really makes a difference.

Sustainable Wantage becomes a Transition Initiative!
We have taken the plunge and become a Transition Initiative to help our journey towards a more resilient future. So what’s new?
We’ll still be ‘Sustainable Wantage’ and will continue to raise awareness of energy and environmental issues. There will be increased focus on understanding what climate change and peak oil actually means to our local community, particularly in light of the current economic situation, and we’ll be exploring ways we can increase our resilience and reduce our dependence on oil. It’s a positive, inclusive process that can involve the whole community.
